So, what do we have to say on this new range from the people over at fox.

The R-Series is an extremely comfortable range that has been built to our exacting standards.

Well after deciding on what bed to go for as there are so many on the market these days and never owning a fox bed myself in the past I thought that for an entry level flat bed at a super low price it would be rude not to give it a go. There are so many beds on the market these days it is really a struggle to help decide on what to go for, after a lot of research and I mean a lot it was a tuff decision to make in what to go for. Being a bigish angler of 17st I had to find a bed that will be comfy and able to withstand my weight on it. After many hours spent on beds that just don’t cut it and plenty of back aches from countless beds this bed was well and truly wort every penny spent on it, at £135 you are getting a lot of bed for the money I mean the size of this bed in its standard form is a beast and it accommodates me with plenty of room round me being 6’1 I was not expecting my room to be fair, but looking at the dimensions on paper it didn’t seam that big so thought just the standard bed size would be fine but once I got it I could have problem got away with the compact size bed the 5cm would not have made much difference I mean this bed is a monster.

The extra lumbar support really does come in to its own with the way it helps support you being a big angler and as a result no more back ache for me. I have spent a few weekends init now and I can tell this bed is built to last, fox have done a great job with this bed and the others in the r range. It is a must for anyone not looking to spend £100s on a bed this bed offers all the features of beds triple its price and I cannot believe I waited this long to get one.

So, when I got the r2 standard bedchair it was now a hard decision on what bag to pair with it from the fox range, after a little digging I decided to pair it with the ERS 3 season bag, to say it’s a match made in heaven and I am happy with my choice. As a hole the bad is great does what it says on the tin. Its warm, light and fits the r2 bed spot on I mean that I don’t think I’ve found a bag and bed to work so well together. It fits just right on the r2 and has been designed to do so. I love the fact that the crash zips do really allow you to fling open the bag an hit a run with out the bag being attached to you still.

The ERS (Evo-Tec Rip Stop) is a 3 Season sleeping bag that features our brand-new Evo-Tec Rip Stop outer fabric, which is incredibly hardwearing. Being made form Rip Stop outer fabric it’s a strong light weight bag it Utilises 7 Core Hollow Fibre filling which is silicone treated to help maintain shape and expand fibres with its Polyester lined base for ease of movement inside the bag and it does make a big difference and you don’t get wrapped up in the bag like some I’ve had in the past. It has a Micro fleece lined upper layer for added warmth and comfort with Offset panel stitching helps to keep warm air inside the bag. My favourite thing with the bag is 10mm heavy-duty crash zips that don’t snag when you need to exit the bag in a hurry. The bag has Oversized external zip baffles help to keep cold air out and warm air in, Oversized internal baffles packed with hollow fill to keep warm air in bag prevent it escaping through zips and they truly do help loads at keeping the warmth in. I was half expecting them to get caught up on the zip when crashing out but nope not once. The bag has Elasticated hoods at head and foot end plus elasticated strap in middle to help secure bag to bedchair and they do a great job on the r2 bed holding the bag where you want it to be. Another pulse is the Zipped mesh pockets on both sides are perfect for storing valuable items such as receiver, keys, phone and wallet and what ever else you keep to hand. The bag features a Pillow retaining hood helps to stop your pillow from sliding off the bed and not finding it on the floor in the morning is a great thing as nothing worse that keep having to fight to keep it on the bed. It also has a Hot foot pocket – zips stop short at the foot end to create a thermal pocket around your feet keeping them nice and toasty it also comes Supplied in stuff sack that it is quite easy to get in to and out of. The compression straps work well getting the bag smaller so it’s not as bulky
